- Sarah Dorothy Little took violin lessons to learn how to play the violin for her scenes as Melody Ward
- The location of Jack Ward's camp had an elevation of 8000ft above sea level. The cast and crew hiked all of their gear in and stayed in tents while filming parts of the movie
- The campsite used was at Grizzly Lake
- The "mountain" was a combo of Fresno Dome, Grizzly Lake, and Camp Sugar Pine
- The concert scene was shot in the Lindsay theater
- Many places were instantly recognizable to locals from the school sites used (Wasuma Elementary, Yosemite High School) to the restaurant (Me N Eds) - located in Oakhurst, CA.
- Heather Sconce (Aria's mom) and Mackenzie Sconce (Aria) are real-life mother & daughter!
