Q: What virtual reality films are available?      
  • A: We will always show the Experience Yosemite VR film and currently (as of July 2022) we have Everest VR and a kid's virtual-reality movie called Astroids! showing. All films currently playing are family-friendly, but we will be adding some horror titles during October. We will be changing our titles on a regular basis to give people new experiences. For more info please check our NOW SHOWING area of the website for the most current showtimes & ticket prices. 

Q: How long will you be showing the Experience Yosemite VR film? Is it showing for a limited time?
  • A: Forever! Experience Yosemite VR will always be available and will be a permanent fixture on the VR film schedule

Q: Does the monthly membership price include the virtual reality experience?
  • A: Yosemite Cinema members are eligible to receive a discounted ticket, but the VR experience is not included in the monthly membership. Guests who are not members will be required to pay the full VR experience ticket price. Member guests will be able to purchase tickets for $2 off per ticket. This discount will be reflected on the checkout screen. 

Q: What does the VR experience cost?
  • A: Each film varies in length and content, so each VR film is priced separately. For more info please check our NOW SHOWING area of the website for the most current showtimes & ticket prices.

Q: Am I able to wear my glasses with the VR headset?
  • A: You sure can. There is enough room in the VR headset that you do not need to remove them and you can enjoy the experience wearing your glasses. 

Q: Is there a weight limit for the experience?
  • A: The chairs have a weight limit of 330 lbs. but we do have alternative accommodations so all guests can enjoy the VR experience. Please just let our VR ushers know you'll need this accommodation when you arrive. 

Q: Is the ride accessible to guests in wheelchairs?
  • A: Yes! Our virtual experience offers guests in wheelchairs access to the experience as well. Please just let our VR ushers know you'll need this accommodation when you arrive. 

Q: How do I find prices for VR movies?
  • A: When you log into or create your account on our Yosemite Cinema app or on our website, you can view the prices of each VR film. Simply click on your desired date and time to view the film and ticket prices and options will show. Member prices will reflect a discounted ticket price, additional guest tickets are full price.

Q: Will I be able to get into the chair? They seem high off the ground.
  • A: Absolutely! We have VR USHERS who will help you get comfortably into the haptic chair, we even have step stools available if needed. 

Q: Are the goggles comfortable? 
  • A: Yes! We use high-resolution tethered 4K VR headsets, combined with tethered headsets. Haptic pillows complete the experience for a fully immersive audio experience. Our VR USHERS will assure you're comfortably seated, goggles fitted and headsets adjusted before your experience begins. 

Q: I get motion sick. Do I need to worry about this when viewing the VR experience?
  • A: Nope. The whisper-quiet motion, 360° rotation has won multiple awards and is specifically designed to alleviate motion sickness.

Q: Anything else I should know?
  • A:  Have fun! The Positron XR technology assures a smooth, yet exciting virtual reality experience each time!
